Madison, the county seat of Madison County, is situated in Northeast Nebraska at the junction of Highways 81 and 32. The village is a perfect location whether you are looking for a home or a unique place to visit.

Residents and visitors alike enjoy the benefits of small-town living yet only a short drive can connect them to any city in the United States.  Large cities within driving distance are Norfolk, NE;  Sioux City, IA; Omaha, Lincoln, and Grand Island, NE; and Yankton, South Dakota. While visiting, make sure you stop by the Madison County Historical Society Museum & Gift shop. The museum is rich in history and heritage. If you’re planning a visit in July, don’t miss the Madison County Fair at the local fair grounds – it’s one of the best County Fairs around! The town also boasts the Carnegie Family Learning Center, the Archive Center for the Nebraska Orphan Train Riders, nearly 100 camp sites, a community swimming pool/tennis courts and DeGroot Orchards, a quaint yet impressive apple orchard open in the fall.
